Hiram M. Chittenden Locks

Located less than a mile from the Ballard Inn are the beautiful Hiram M. Chittenden Locks. Commonly known as the Ballard Locks, the area is considered one of Seattle's most popular tourist attractions for it's location and beauty. The Ballard Locks are situated between Ballard, to the north, and the Magnolia neighborhood to the south. The area features the Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Garden, open 7am to 9pm year round, and a fish ladder open to the public 7am-8:45pm year round. Admission is free. 

Golden Gardens Beach Park

Golden Gardens Beach Park is a popular summer time destination for tourists and Seattleites alike. Whether you are looking to walk along the paved trail surrounding the park, reserve a fire pit for a late-night beach campfire, or simply looking to soak up the beautiful Seattle sun Golden Gardens has something to offer everyone. Golden Gardens is located less than 3 miles from the Ballard Inn and offers free public parking. The park is open 4:30am - 11:30pm year round.
